Dear fellow National lap steel enthusiasts,
I saw this 1951 National Dynamic selling for $1,025 on eBay! Other Dynamics have sold recently for about half this price. What is the reason for this high price? This particular instrument's condition, or hysteric bidding by people who wanted it sooo badly (or both)?
I think the way the seller "presents" an item can make a big difference to the selling price too. Lots of nice pictures and plenty of info is usually worth the extra listing cost and time taken from a seller's point of view.
When will the first book about "eBay psychology" be published?
Cheers,

Pretty high, especially for a six string. Reality is, though, it probably will be relisted shortly; I have been tracking some of these unreasonably high bids and usually they turn out to be bogus bidders. |

Fred, I think Keith is right - it seems kind of fishy.
The seller probably had his buddy bid on it in an effort to drive up the price.
If that's the case and he went too high and accidentally won the auction, you'll probably see the same guitar relisted soon.
Dynamics typically go for $700 - $800, sometimes less. |

I have never played a Dynamic. Would these sound the same as my Airline Rocket. Same company, pups, and almost identical in shape and construction. |
