Numerous hotel/motels exist at this exit along with all the standard off road eating places. I have visited these establishments and they are all very nice, clean and anxious to supply plenty of southern hospitality.

As usual, this program has legs of its own and a few big steps have just been taken. Along with our stalwart major supporter, Buck Grantham, we will have in the house, Hank Corwin, Terry Bethel, David Easely and yesterday the great Pee Wee Whitewing called confirming his presence at this event on June 30th. Jack Goodson will come in from Florida and enlighten us with his talents. Barney Miller from the Atlanta area also. Plus all our regular players. Complete list and schedule to follow soon. Hal Higgins will open again for us and due to popular demand, Hal will have another slot on the program later in the afternoon.
I am so excited to have Hank Corwin and Pee Wee Whitewing on the same stage with the Mississippi Coast Jazz Society players-REALLY BIG BAND MUSUC this day! And then with Bob Saxton and his guitar in the mix, all is just so good. Things are looking up here folks. Good times and good music ahead.
Thanks for all this wonderful support.

Here we go !!! Billy done gone to work on what is weighing in to be another "BIG-UN".

I got word that Mike Hoover is sho-nuff gonna be at the show. Course, Mike and family are heading to Europe on the 10th of this month, for 2 or 3 weeks.I told him to keep his head down.

Also talked to Barney and I know ole Barn is gonna be with us. Like myself, Barney is all pumped up over Ms Mary's surgery. She's gonna be back up and running for the show, as will Ms Mickey.

It'll be good to see the gang back together after a long dry spell.

And Buck,,,,,, I done eet so many collard greens, Ms Mickey has to tie a coal oil rag around my ankles to keep the cut worms from eating me up.

Lana, I'll be standin in the wing, waiting for that big ole hug.

Man,, all them good pickers huddled up in one building!!!! Didn't say I couldn't stand it, I said I couldn't hardly stand it !!!

WOW, thanks Doc. Sure want you on our program any time you desire. Just let me know. I want all of us to hear a really good steel player and a LEGEND of our steel guitar world. You, Al Marcus, Alvino Rey, Roy Ayers certainely gave us most of our directions on how to play this instrument. It is a great pleasure to have you just in our audience and should we all be fortunate to have you on stage would just top it off very properly.
Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you.
Your friend,

Bill,

Laurie and I certainly wish we could be there for this one. Be sure to give our friends Ben, Hal, Terry, Lana, Rob, Barney, Hugh, Buck and all the others our regards -- and give Betty a big hug for us. This one is scheduled at just about the time construction will be finished on our new house in Riverview, Florida -- so we don't dare commit to anything in June.

Thanks Ms Lana for all you do for all the steel guitar org, fans and friends. It is most appreciated. Really looking forward to a big time June 30th.
I have a "barely used" EXCEL S-14 Superb model pedal steel. I use the term "barely used" after Hank Corwin and Bob Saxton spent most of yesterday in my home. Listening to Hank Corwin and Bob Saxton together showed and told me that I have hardly played my steel guitar at all-if ever! Yesterday was a pre-rehearsal for our Friday nite frolic prior to our June 30 show, and I can only say that we all are in for a great time and the best music in any part of the country. Big band time will abound. More details later.
Talk to James at the Days Inn for his very special rates.

Bill - You're quite welcome but I must say, the pleasure is all mine!

John - Sorry you can't make it this go around. Hopefully you can make the next one. This show is really a great time every time.

Jim - You know I'll be in the front row when you take the stage - recorder and all!

What a line up Bill and the gang have planned... Hank, Bob, Bill, Joe, Jim, Buck, Terry (hopefully Mel won't book a new date) and so many great players.

Hey, is Jr. Martin going to be there too? He always fascinates me when he plays.

And what about mini Minnie Pearl? She's such a doll!

See ya'll in Gulfport!

Not too many more weeks folks before we christen our new home in the St. Martin Community Center.
And to top it all off is the presence of that charming Ms Lana of the Steel Radio dot Com show in St. Louis.
Hal Higgins will open our show and no one, repeat-no one-plays our nation's anthem any better that Hal. And, he will have another slot later on in the program and here we will get to hear his fabulous version of "How Great Thou Art". After this song by Hal. we all might as well pack up and go home. Excellent way to end our program.
We have so many fine players enrout-Terry Bethel-providing Mell does not book a job that weekend Buck Grantham, Danny Harrell, Billy Carr, Jim Parker will have Rob Parker on stage with him I bet, Rob Parker will have his own steel slot in the middle of the afternoon too-another special treat for all of us, Barmey Miller, Royce Tarver, Winston Street, R.J. Buras, Bert Courrege, Ken Henderson-Ken has my very first U-14 concept steel that Sierra built for me decades ago and hopefully, his new EXCEL will have arrived for him to play and show us another great steel guitar, Randy Blackwell, Ivan Reddington, Jack Goodson-for the first time on our stage, Royce Tarver and hopefull Will Stewart can be here.
David Easley will be on stage with his Easley/Anderson Project. Dave Anderson, professor of music in the state of Louisiana is the bassist. Dave is called to NY to work with the greatest Yo Yo Ma- so we are in for some music lessons with this group on stage.
Hank Corwin will have two appearances, at least, on this day. First, he will have musicians from the Mississippi Coast Jazz Society on stage with him to give us some big band music. (I am awaiting confirmation from Pee Wee Whitewing and should Pee Wee be able to be here, the big band sound with Hank will get much bigger). And to please the crowd, and especially me, we might be able to arrange a slot for Pee Wee and Hank Corwin. Bob Saxton will be in this mix and it just can not get any better than this, folks.
Bob Saxton will be in demand all afternoon as we all know. And they just might allow me to have a slot on this program.
More on the schedule as soon as I have it all worked out. Really thank all of you for your continued support. We will give a real southern hospitality HOWDEEEEE when our very own Cayla-Anne Kelton "Ms 'Mini'Minnie Pearl", takes the stage. One beautiful girl here and just experiencing her on stage is all we really need. See you soon.(I am not at my computer so if I have left anyone off, I will add them soonest. Thanks again.
