Hal, I don`t have a lot of info on them. Last time I saw them perform was at the "Escobar Steel Guitar Circle Jam" that I ran in Wemouth in 2001. I heard that Ronnie (steel guitar) was in worse health than Donnie (bass guitar). Jimmy Allen is running the benefit. I`m sure he could answer your concerns. |

Manny , Donnie , the steel player, has had a recurance of a cancer problem. Jimmy Allen is running the benefit/tribute to the D'Eons and expects several hundred friends and fans. It will be held outside at the Saugus Elks and there will be many singers and musicians dropping in . It will be a great event and I hope all their friends will drop by and pay tribute to two great guys and musicians !! Eddie "C" ( the old geezer ) |

Ed, Thanks for responding, and presenting a little more accuracy; such as their last name is spelled D`Eon, and Donnie is the one that plays steel. I have a good excuse. They look so much alike. Seriously, lets try to attend this benefit to help a two brothers who are very deserving. |

Ronnie and Donnie have been long-time friends of mine. We did some music playing together in the Boston area. Two of the finest men I've ever known....I hope the benefit turns out well for them, and I wish I could be there with them. Would someone who will be in attendance, give them my very best regards? I certainly would appreciate it. _________________ HAL...Excel D-10 w/ 8 & 5. As of this date, I don`t know if there is any other CMA functuon in the area. However, I don`t have the MCMAA`s schedule for June. Eddie Cunningham predicted hundreds of friends and followers. I would like to see this happen for Ronnie and Donnie D`Eon. |

Just a reminder that the benefit for Ronnie and Donnie starts at 2 at the Saugus Elks, 413 Main St. Saugus off of Rt. 1.
It should be one of the biggest events of the year honoring 2 of the nicest guys guys in the business, They've been a big part of the Country scene in Mass. since the 70's and deserve our support.
Most of John Penny's band, most of The Country Masters, The Amigos, Angela West, John Hicks, Robin Right, Johnny White and tons of others will be there. $10 donation at the door.
See you there. |
