Can anyone tell me when Emmons went from the soft case with the round corners and yellow - orange interior to the hard shell cases with the square corners. I have a 68 p/p with the soft case. was this standard for that year..?

I've got a black pushpull 1968 #1224 that had the soft case with the rounded corners-I hated it. The steel just sat upside down in there with no supports. I bought a hard shell case with the little block supports. Finally sold that old soft case.

My 1970 S-10 came with the dreaded cardboard case.

I immediately ordered a custom flight case.

The PIDR Case has been collecting dust in a corner of my music room since.

How a company could make such great guitars, and put them in crappy cases defies logic.

I actually have my 68 nestled in a pair of Wade Thomas spit cases. Hand tooled black leather look and quite happy with them.
The soft case that came with the guitar is almost mint condition. I don't think the guitar was put in the case very much. The guitar wasn't played much either.

This is the original case that came with my 1970 S-10 Fat Back, pictured in my earlier post.

I never used it. I had a flight case made for it.
