Do any of you "Pro Sound" guys know of a source for reasonably priced, after market diaphragm kits for JBL 2416H HF drivers? I need 2 of them. OEM list price is $149.00 which is a little out of my budget range. I may replace them with Peavey RX 22 drivers which are less expensive to repair. Any thoughts?

If ya put Peavey drivers on it'll sound like a peavey and if you are used to the JBL's ...you won't like it,you'll have to re-EQ everything....go to soundspeakerrepair.com......2416 diaphragm(aftermarket)is $43.99.I can't tell a difference in theirs and a JBL.I run in JBL monitors and have had no trouble... _________________ SHO-BUD LDG(Cooperized),MULLEN RP SD-10,Webb 614E,'73 Vibrosonic,Mesa-Boogie Pre,Stewart 1.2,TC Electronic M-300,JBL's,Black Box,Walker Seats'84 Dobro,'69 Martin D-28,and assorted other goodies! |

Bari, I agree with your assessment that by installing Peavey drivers in a JBL cab that the JBL cab may sound a bit different. But, that is not exactly the "whole story". The crossover has to change as well as the crossover is an integral part of the cabinet design and how it is voiced. |
