Had the great pleasure of catching Mike and his back up band along with Ray Price in London Ontario last night. They where on day 14 of a cross Canada tour. After one small flub in the first song Mike put on an amazing show. The package included Cliff Price and Anita Perras ( a great Canadian Singer) as well as Ray. I think they were carring their own soundman because from where I as sitting, the Mix was great, lots of steel and fiddle. Excellant show, even the wife enjoyed it. Ray was in excellent voice even though he had been fighting a cold.
I tried to get to the stage after the show to talk to Mike, but the crowd waiting to meet Ray was so deep that by the time I got within shouting distance he had packed up and disappeared. Even ran into Steve Piticco and Al Widemeyer out in the halls. If they are coming to your town soon be sure to be there and catch some great classic country.

I caught Price and Mike in Calgary and it was indeed a great show. Talked briefly to Mike as he was breaking down his gear and he's playing a new Excel D10 on this tour. Sounded like a PP when he first started playing. All in all a great package.

Mike always sounds like he's playing a PP! Last time I heard him it was a EMCI with E-66's in it through two old Standels, that was down at one of those Knoxville shows the Stoney used to do, might have been a better PP tone than some of the guys actually playing PPs!

John, I didn't get close enough to the stage in time to get a good look, but it looked like he was playing a universal 12 to me.

I also had the pleasure of catching that show in Lindsay, Ontario last weekend. It was excellent. The mix was superb! Lots of excellent playing by Mike Cass and company.

Ray was singing great!

Hey Harry-I was also in London and when you look
out in the crowd and see a bunch of pickers then
you know they are out to see the Master. Ray and
his gang are top notch and I had to go and say a
Thankyou to the soundman for such a great mix. I
also brought my wife and she said that had to be
the best show that she has ever seen. Very Happy
Charlie
