There is a mint Shobud Pro 1 in St. Louis at a local music store. It is natural finish, Beautiful, 6 on the floor, 1 knee. It is for sale with the original Shobud amp( I didn't see the amp). The store is asking, I think,$2400. I don't have any affiliation with this sale at all. The store is Fazio's Fret's and friends, I don't want to post the #, here is the website:

It's a beauty! JP

$2400 for a Pro-1? I hope it has at least a drink holder and a color T.V. attached.

Must be a 6139 with a C6 setup. Hard guitar to move at $2,400, even with an amp thrown in.

Sounds like a 6140, which is listed in the catalog as having 6 pedals and no KL's. And yeah, $2400 is pretty steep, even with the amp.
I wonder which Sho-Bud amp it is....they're pretty cool amps.

Cool, Skip.......I always learn something new from you. I didn't know the C6 S-10 had a different model number.

The steel and amp are a consignment through the store. If the price is too high, please let us know so we can relay it to the seller. It is extremely clean.

Thanks,
Dave

I'm only relaying, I have no clue as to value. The Bud is very pristine. Sorry to miss you at the store, Dave, I was Tele shopping. JP

(It is setup for E9)

If that Sho-bud amp is the one with the 15" JBL specially made for steel, it would be a good buy to me. That was a good amp, great sound. As for the S10 , those are nice guitars and pristine, hard to get with 6 pedals. You can always get Coop's Knee levers . But $2400. would be a little high for me. That might have the Rack and Barrels underneath...al:)Smile

I have just one point to make and it's not meant to downgrade the guitar in any way, but; it seems quite obvious that the guitar has been refinished, due to the lack of the Pro I Logo on the right side of the front-apron! Maybe the value of the Amp. will make up for that!

John-As far as I can see, you are correct, that is not a Pro1, it is a professional S10,with the rack and Barrel tuning. That was made before the Pro 1. ..al.Smile

John, it's not a ProI. It's a 6140, which is pre-Pro series, circa 70-72. This gtr, along with the 3 pedal version, known as the 6139, never had the decal on the right side.
This is a very cool gtr, btw. It would make a great sgl neck C6 axe, or it could be set up for other tunings, such as a 10 string version of Sneaky Pete's B6, or Red Rhodes' Eb tuning.

This catalog is from '71. I would say that the gtr in question is a little later, since '72 was about when they moved the pedals closer to the keyhead end of the gtr.

The original Post says: “There is a mint Pro-I”. However, even if it is ‘The Professional’ model, it still does not have that Logo on the right side of the front-apron. I owned a D–10 of “The Professional” model and it had the Logo! Therefore, I still tend to think ‘refinished’!

Yeah, I know. but I doubt it's a refin. I guess he just figured that since it's a sgl neck, it must be a ProI. ProI's came after rack and barrel, though, and that vintage never had any decal other than the Sho-Bud decal. And the 6 pedal model was discontinued when the Pro series came out.
And, to make things even more confusing, after they came out with the ProI - with the ProI decal - for a little while they still continued to make another sgl neck called the "Professional Model 6139". (This was after they discontinued the D10 Professional).
The Prof 6139 was identical to the ProI, except that it came with 1 KL (ProI's came with 2), and it was minus the ProI decal.
Both of these sgl neck models had the new undercarriage.
It's still a very cool gtr.

Hey guys,

I appreciate the collective knowledge of this forum, and thank you all for your help and interest on this particular item.

We want to do our best to help the seller represent his piece in the most accurate fashion, and welcome any information you have to offer.

I can assure you that this steel has not been refinished. It was purchased by the seller from the original owner in the seventies, and was basically in storeage there after. He never gigged with it or altered it in any way.

As far as the model name, I have to go by your knowledge and advice. The original post was by Jim and not the store, and I assumed that it was a Pro I. If it isn't please let me know so I can describe it properly on our web site.

I do want to thank Jim for posting the steel and our link on the forum. We do appreciate your initiative in helping us sell this item.

Thanks again,
Dave

I apologize for any misinformation, I do not know steels, and just assumed Pro 1. I do not think it is refinished, it looks original in every way, to me, but I'm no expert. Fazio's is a great local guitar store, my sons and I have bought many items from the store, including at least 3 guitars, always fair for both parties. My apologies again for any confusion. I am not affiliated with this store or sale in any way. JP
