Topic: Two necks or three??? |

I'm enjoying the Fender Custom (1953 triple eight) but also have access to a Dual Professional walnut guitar.
Of course the triple is heavier, but aside from that, any of you vintage Fender guys have opinions on two necks vs. three? Talking recording and gigging here...

I have the FENDER CUSTOM T-3 love it ! But in agreement with you, I find it is a bit too heavy to haul around to gigs. I use a double neck instead. Actually, on the T-3, I use: E6th A13th and B11th. I can get along fine without the B11th, all the more reason to save myself from backpains.

The T8 is heavy? Thats one of the lighter steels I have. I have a four neck Wright I haul around to shows it weighs at least 85 pounds in the case! If I dont use that I play my Bigsby and thats also not light one. I go for what sounds the best. I think everyone should. You cant beat having three tunnings.
Also amps, I've tried to use lighter modern amps but the sound just disapoints me. I've recorded on both. When I recorded with digital equipment you could not notice the diffrent steels, whe i record with tape you can tell right away what steel I played. Thats all I know.
