Hi Paul....Serial number 2C5844 shows to be an emerald green double 10 Vintage XL which left the factory with 8 pedals and 4 knee levers. It's original destination was Smith Music.(location unknown) It was born in October 1977. The specific date was not entered into record.

Serial number 2C6224 is a double 10 SS which is also emerald green and left the factory with 8 and 4. The original purchaser was a man named R.T. Miles. The date of completion was not entered into record.

I greatly appreciate your loyalty to MSA over the years. I have to wonder how many of our guitars you have owned, and how many you still have.

thanks reece for the info. i just got the m.s.a classic SS about a week ago on ebay. the other m.s.a classic xl i took in on trade. i ,also have another m.s.a.classic xl red. that i am restoring. so, yes i have three but can't play ether one of them Wink

Paul, your MSA (SN 2C6224) was most likely built in the fall of 1980.
