Just listened to Buck's CD. Very refreshing. One of the best I've ever listened to. Intonation is perfect, great tone and playing style is excellent. His approach into and out of verses is nice to listen to also. My two favorites on CD are "Kelsey's Song", "Cry" and "Alabama Jubilee". On a 1 to 10 scale, guys this is a 10+. |

This has been one of my favorite CDs since it came out. I highly recommend it; and that JCH steel ain't bad either. Anytime Buck comes to town, regardless of which singer he brings with him, we'll be there. |

I'm very sorry to say I don't have this CD in my collection yet, but I will very soon. I have however heard a few cuts here and there. I'm dying to see Buck play live.....

Yep, Buck's the real McCoy! Great CD and monster player. I'm waiting for the "Waiting Room" tab; one of my favorites off the CD. That tune "Sour Dough" is growing to be one of my favorites! |

I just bought it at Jeff Bradshaw's Steel Show up here in Canada, Buck's whole CD is really good, its being put beside a few of my other favorites, Just a super picker, Quick Highlights for me are
Kelsey's Song, Killer Song, Perfect Playing, Soulful
as can be, Kinda like Green,Emmons,Franklin,
oozing out of his hands into Buck's own Style.
Eastern Swing, C6 Chops, Unbelievable Articulation.
Very cool tune.
Sour Dough, The first Solo is one of the coolest
if not the coolest Rip It Up Solo's I've heard in a long time,
Actually made me Laugh! Particularily the Chromatic
thingy,at the beginning of the Solo, Whacky.
This is a seriously great CD by a really tasty player
With Chops, Thanx Buck, For the years of hard work thats gone onto this CD, Greg |

I guess I'm several years out-of-date here, but I just watched the RV movie too. I loved the music and had to check out what posts there are on the Forum about Buck.
Great playing.
By the way, I'm one of those weird guys who watches the TV behind a pedal steel and plays along with whatever comes on the screen, adverts and all. |

Yes a resurrected post.
Buck is a phenomenal technician, and his CD is right at the top of the pile of any instrumental steel albums. I have to agree with one of the previous posters. Buck's Sour Dough just made me burst out laughing with incredulity when I first heard it. He is so talented that he can make your nose bleed with breathtaking speed one minute, and the next he can play with sublime taste and tone on a ballad such as "Cry". He has it all, and is such a nice guy with it. Very modest and low key for such a monster player.
Anyone out there who hasn't got Buck's CD should go to his website and listen to his clips. http://buckreid.com/id1.html If they don't persuade you to buy it then you have no taste. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator.
