Wow, that's a good looking guitar. Did you order it without the Carter Name on the front apron? I like the natural wood finish on steel guitars.
Congratulations on the new guitar, and on becoming a Forum member. Great place to be for steel players!

Didn't b0b explain it's not a requirement to buy a beautiful new guitar (unless it was his) in order to get on the Forum?
That's one good lookin hunk of wood...well, besides me...lol

Thanks for the compliments. I did order it without the logo. It was their quilted maple lacquer with the Most Requested Tuning (8x5). It is really a work of art and has a great warm tone. I brought it out for its first gig last weekend and the rest of the band was very impressed. |

Why do you not have the little cheesy Carter logo on it? I forgot to mention I have a Carter and it is a jamb up ax.

Welcome aboard, from Texas.
That is one nice axe you have there. I have a Carter, too. But it is mica, not lacquer. I would worry too much about lacquer being dinged.
I also like how you used that photo from Winnie Winston's book as your avatar. |

I'm sure the first few dings will be the hardest. Hopefully its me that does it and not the bass player. That would be hard to forgive. |

That is a great looking guitar. I also play a Carter and think that black is best but I must admit, I stared at the photos for quite awhile. I also don't care for the Carter logo. It meminds me of the old days when there was Carter gasoline and the logo looked very similar. I am surprised that they would put a guitar out there without the logo though. Anyway, it is a great looking guitar and the Carter is a fine instrument, love mine. |

Isacc,
I just realized that your avatar is Earl Sexton! I bought my first steel guitar from him at Edgewood, Md in circa 1980. That picture is from Winnies book..
Oh yeah... It was a green lacquer,S12 extended E9 MSA Vintage XL, 5x4. I also bought a shobud amp with a JBL in it. I was so thrilled with the Steel that I phoned MSA and talked to Maurice Anderson about it:) _________________ Steve Stallings
