I have 2 G&L ASAT Telecasters. On one guitar the tone control has a nice rolloff and is actice for the full rotation. On the other guitar the tone does not seem to have any effect until you reach almost full rotation. I have noticed that on the second guitar the rotation is different than the other (clockwise versus counterclockwise).
Can anyone tell me if this is related to the tone POT, or a wiring problem, or both?
I have a Strat with the same problem.
thanks,

You need to swap the outside leads of the tone pot to reverse the direction in which it functions. Leave the center lead alone. Take every wire from the left side and move them to the right, and vice-versa. _________________ Everyone in the world has two jobs: 1) whatever they do for a living; and 2) music critic. |

Yep, the one with backwards rotation is wired wrong. Probably a garage tech who made a wiring mistake. You might also check the cap value, because it sounds like the wrong cap may be in there as well. It should be a .047 or .022uf (I can't recall on ASAT's, but I seem to remember they use one of the two standard Fender cap values). _________________ No chops, but great tone
