You have been invaded by a Steel pickin Alien by the name of John Davis. This man is not of this world, he will Steel all your licks and come home as a Pro Steeler. This cannot be allowed to happen, unless of course he brings me back a real TEXAS style Stetson or Baileys hat. (remember John I've only got a little head, 6&3/4 Brit size.) Who has the pleasure of his company at the moment??? Enjoy yourself John and bring Texas home with you. I hope you get to meet Ted Solesky, if so give him my regards.
See you when you get home,
Cheers Shakey.

Thanks for the update Randy, I wish I could be there, I have a few tracks by these guys, Bobby Flores etc. If only we could get these guys over to the UK. Maybe John can tempt them over for a holiday, They would make a fortune over here giving Steel lessons, we all would love to play like those guys.
Thanks again, bye for now. Shakey.

John came out to see us play last wednesday.

I'll bet there weren't many bars in Texas with 2 English steel players that night.

It was a pleasure meeting him, Too bad he couldn't sit in on my steel (Me Emmons, He Day) if he had I'm sure it would have been better than the noise I was making that night Very Happy

Thank you gentlemen for keeping me in touch, I think this is Johns last night in Texas so I hope he enjoys it and I hope you enjoy his playing. One of these days he will show me how to get those chords, especially the ones that don't exist, but John finds them!. See you when you get home mate, No Baileys Gamblers Eh! Wot a bugger????
Cheers for now. Shakey.

Steve, A lot of us older steelers in the UK play the Day setup because that was the way it was introduced to us in this country. John can give you the history on that. I believe it started with Gordon Huntley, Eric Snowball, Pete Wilshire, etc, etc, all of, (unless I am very much mistaken) played ZB's. I am one of those old geezers, but I love Sho-Buds and MSA's. John is a devout Emmons Push Pull man, I know you will send him home happy, and a lot more steel wise. When he gets home I'll take his brains apart.
Cheers Shakey.
