Looking for someone in the Greater Northern California Area (within 4-5 hours of the Bay Area) who does reconditioning work on older steels (I've got a 70s SB Pro III and a 70's ZB that could use refits). I've had enough bad luck with shippers (two out of two of the last two got crunched) that I'm looking for alternatives.

That would be Tom Bradshaw in Concord.

It would appear Tom no longer does refurbs. No one else has posted to this note, so perhaps there isn't anyone doing this here in NorCal?

I think Tom is very busy refining the Webb amps and getting them ready for the market. I know he loves working on steels, but I reckon time is more limited now that he's a big fancy amp company owner. Wink

Hello Eric;
I know this is southern Ca & not northern Ca.as you requested but still in the same state.You might try Jim Palenscar at http://www.stlgitr.com/
I was just at his shop this past Friday & he is very
picky with his work & that IMHO is the kind of guy you want to do this kind of work..as stated above Tom is also very picky with his work too but probably busy with the amp business.Just something else to think about...Ron
