I'll be in St Louis next week, Wed. night through Friday night. Any steelers playing those nights? Don Curtis, maybe? Or how about you, Bobby Caldwell?! (I know you're reading this Wink) Would love to hear some great music while there.
Lemme know.

Cheers,
Jimbeaux

Jim.

Here's a gig not to be missed. Don E Curtis with Paul Jarvis at Riddles Penultimate. Thursday, April 19th.

http://www.riddlescafe.com/musicapr.html

They are located in a very cool part of St. Louis, the U City Loop. Riddles has about the best beer selection in town, not to mention some of the best food to be had anywhere. Laid back gig. Lots of steel.

Sure Jim, but keep in mind that there is a 5 Steeler limit in the audience. Can't have everyone stealing my 'chop'! It will be great to see you...hope you can make it. I think Brad's coming and I asked Scotty too. We actually try to start at 7:45pm. (Bar Time)
Have a safe trip, and thanks for asking,
Don E.

Jim, Sorry I'm not playing at the moment as I had to have some hand surgery about six weeks ago. Things are coming along nicely and I think I will play again. I would like a few more years of it anyway. Call me when you get to St. Louis. Get the number from Scotty's store. Loveya pal, Bobby

Thanks for all the posts, folks. I'm going to try to make it down to Riddles on Thurs evening; Won't get there by 7:30pm but hopefully by 8 or 8:30pm.

Friday eve, I'll be over at Steel Guitar Radio to help broadcast a special edition of "The Underground". There's a separate post about that over on the Steel Guitar Radio section of the Forum.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you, and perhaps talking with some others by phone or internet at SGR.

Cheers,
Jimbeaux

Jim, if you want to hear some Jazz six string playing, I have a friend named Dave Black who is a great Jazz Guitarist. Here is a link to his website where I believe he has a schedule posted.

Hey that was a fun time. Thanks to Jim and Brad, and Scotty, for coming out to meet me at the club. Of course Don had to be there anyway (Wink) but it was great to see and hear this terrific musician in a low-key duo setting. It's just one of the unfair things in life that some guys like Don are so good at several instruments when it takes the rest of us all we've got to try to get decent on just one instrument.

Tonight I'll be over at Scotty's for the SteelRadio.com broadcast. Hope to see/hear/read several of you pickers over there.

Cheers,
Jimbeaux

Yes indeed...it was great having you all there...it was almost like a 'steel show'. Plus is always a great honor to have Scotty in the audience anytime.
And thanks for all the nice compliments, I even got one from Jim Peters so it must have been tolerable.
Thanks guys!

Yup, that was fun. Great to see you on our turf Jim. It was cool to learn that Wash-U, right up the street from where we all met, is your Alma Mater. Of course that was way back in time, at least 10 years ago.Wink

Don, I like that gig. With just two of you up there, the steel makes up half the band. Just how I like it. You sounded great. Thanks for the solo Jimmy Day stuff too. With Jim Cohen in town visiting, Jim Peters, myself, Don E., and of course, Scotty, I think we had more steelers in that bar at one time than ever before.

Brad
