Herb I assume it was built in '64 and was the 9th one made. What does the W mean?

Larry
I thought it meant woodneck, since I've owned both #1164007W and 1164008W (still own that one... great sounding horn) and they are both woodnecks. But my friend owns 1164010W and that one's a wraparound, so my theory is kind of blown there. Is 009 a stereo guitar, or monaural?
Perhaps these guitars were retrofitted with metal necks after serialization. I believe the number indicates the 9th guitar serialized, since there were unnumbered prototypes and other guitars that went out the back door, apparently. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Which changer does it have on it? Does it have the 1964 changer with cast fingers and no spacers between the fingers, and a few other oddities under the guitar, or the more conventional Emmons push pull changer seen on 1965 onward?
Sounds like the guitar may have been a Wood neck that was converted. Is there a longer than normal control panel mounted on the top deck between the necks, or are switches built into the side of the neck? By longer than normal, I am guessing 5 1/2 inches or more.
I know of one other 1964 "W" guitar that started life as a woodneck and was converted to an aluminum neck guitar.
