Checked out Bobbe's shop today. Lots of new and several used guitars. Some interesting storys about
Faron Young, Johnny Cash and Elvis. Maybe Bobbe will jump in and tell everyone what we were told today.
I would but I might mess it up !!
Great steel shop. Stop in if your around Hendersonville. I'm sure you will enjoy.

i hope that you will get in the steel guitar hall of fame this year. it should be your year. good luck. i think you should think about going into steel guitar professionally. wouldn't hurt. donnie can watch the shop ya know. fine young man. may make manager some day.   |

Just remember when you go to Bobbe's shop to leave your wives at home! Mine thought he was cute (I just couldn't see it) and he even gave her a CD (didn't give me one) which she loves. He's a hound dog but I guess we still love him...........JH in Va.

Bobbe needs that sign. I almost gave up on finding him. Old Shackle road and New Shackle road ?? When I found him the store was back behind another building.

Here's what Bobbe did for me.
I came into town to pick up my Marrs a couple years ago.
He didn't know me from anything but a few things on the Forum.
He insisted that I bring the guitar there to set it up, and play it.
He insisted that I take ANY amp I wanted back to my motel to play through, cords and a Sho Bud Volume pedal and a strobe tuner.
When I actually tried to BUY some things, I found that he'd stuck about 50 bucks worth of stuff in the box that I didn't pay for.
Add to that, beating me to the cash register when I tried to buy lunch.
I can't say enough about Bobbe.
Except maybe that he should have been put in the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame back when there were more stringent restrictions on the membership.
Even then, it couldn't touch what he has been to me and a thousand more just like me, and thousands much better. It's something that he can consider a wealth above what few others can claim in this life.
A LOT of good friends.

| In my humble opinion Bobbe Seymour is one of the nicest and easiest to deal with person that I know. If you cannot deal with Bobbe you are an impossible person to deal with. Bobbe, you can reimburse me for this letter of commendation the next time that I visit your shop. Thanks, Felix |

| i have not had the pleasure of visiting mr seymour's store in person but i have ordered from his store and i can certainly say that he and his staff are Extremely friendly and helpful. i wished i lived closer to music city but i will have to settle for visiting the store via the net @ http://www.steelguitar.net/ |

Well, I didn't heed Jerry's advice upthread and took my wife to the shop this past week...she thought he was cute too, but I suspect she was swayed by the red '72 beauty in the back A wonderful place to visit and a great guy to talk to, even for a novice such as myself...we even got to meet a couple of fellas there from our neck of the woods. I'll have to go back with sufficient coin at some point! Bobbe, thanks for the hospitality and we loved the latest disc - several times on the drive back.

When you visit his shop you will have to ask him about the Bigsby he has there that is owned by the best steel player he has ever known or something to that affect.

I've never been to Nashville or Bobbe's store, but he is truly one of the greatest friends I have - and I've never even been able to connect with him on the phone even! He MUST be independently wealthy (hit the lotto Bobbe? Marry some rich 80 year old lady 30 years ago?  ), because he seems to give away as much stuff as he sells! Stories like Eric's are very common. I guess he's simply nuts - but in a good way!

Bobbe Seymour's Steel shop (Steel Guitar Nashville) in my opinion, is by FAR the best steel shop in the U.S.A. He is a super person to do business with. I bought my guitar from him about four years ago, Ive had this guitar longer then any other guitar Ive ever bought, and Ive owned about 23 of them. Bobbe's Steel Guitar shop is tops. He is in the steel business long term,and treats people right. I think his shop is By far the best in the World.

Hey gang,
I am fairly new to steel and the fourm (2nd post) and visited SGN last fall for the first time. Bobbe was great. He took about half a day and played for us on 2-3 steels including one of his Bigsbys! I was there with my wife and a couple of old friends. All of us were just blown away by how nice he was and the time he spent. Just a super guy. We then made the mistake of saying something about old cars so he took us across the parking lot to his hot rod shop, where we spent another hour looking at various car projects! Then we went back over to the repair and restoration side of SGN where we got a peak at a ton of historic steels. Bigsbys, Sho-buds, etc. etc. one of a kind things you just don't get to see. History!
It was a real like changing experience all because Bobbe took the time!
That said,
I just bought my first steel from Bobbe, a D10 Wood neck bolt on P/P. Haven't even gotten it yet but I'm sure it will be the last steel I'll ever need, but most definatly not the last I buy!
Just wanted to say many thanks to Bobbe for being around and supporting the cause! He clearly is doing it out of a love for the music and Instrument not just another business.
Now if I could only learn to play like Bobbe!

Bill, most folks in the steel world don't know about my car restoration and hot rod interests. (and airplane and motorcycle fetishes).
My latest muscle car/hotrod (Pont. GTO, sorta)just took first place in Tennessee's biggest car show, out of 169 entrants. The paint (Violent Red) was still wet, almost. I'm proud of it.
I often wonder how many other car nuts play steel?

I visted Bobbe for the first time Tue. Bought a new
NV 1000.Really happy with it.It sounds AWESOME!!!
Couldn't believe the deal we made! He also loaded me up with GOODIES. If you bought your equipment anywhere else,YOU PAID TOO MUCH!!
Such a nice person I really enjoyed the visit. I'm
a newbie and he not only gave me advice but even more important he gave me encouragement.
He commented about my PINK CHEVY S10 but didn't offer to show me any HOT RODS. What's up BOBBE??
