I am gonna have to break a rule about being fair to everyone and ask you to please go to my web site www.etsga.org/etsga50.htm and listen to Frank Carter play. This is one of the best things I believe I have ever heard. Some great players are already there but you just gotta hear this one.
Buddy, I am sorry, but Frank has passed you on this one. That is my opinion. _________________ Charles Tilley ,

|

E agree 1000 percent with ya Charles on that one. And not only can Frank make a pedal steel sound beautiful...he can create a full string section with that E-Bow...I just can't listen to that song without getting emotional. John |

My God, I'm sitting here listening to this with goosebumps all over my arms!
Magnificent! Thanks for the "heads up" Charles,
Dennis
BTW, there's a clip of Sarah Jory doing the opening of this song on YouTube. I guess whoever taped the clip wasn't interested in the whole song....Pity, as she sure had a good start on it!
BTW #2, the late, great Shawn Lane (RIP) does an awesome 6 string version at YouTube too.... _________________ "Bucks Owin"

Charles: What an exceptional talent; watch out, Buddy, your days are numbered; What brand of guitar was he using and what exact tuning; and what is an E-Bow? I'm not up to PAR on all these new gadgets being utilized today. Such a beautiful sound; like Dennis; my hair hasn't fallen from the ceiling, yet.Does anyone have a photo of the guitar which Frank built in his garage? If so, please POST.. Thanks, forumites..Bernie _________________ 2007 Zum S-10; 1967 Sho-Bud [ D-10 ]; 85 S-10 Sierra; 1953 Multi-Kord [ 6 String- 4 pedals ] A Sho-Bro six String Resonator Guitar; Nashville 112 Amp; hilton Vol. Pedal |

The E-Bow is a battery operated device that rests on the E strings of the steel guitar (The E9th tuning)it produces a vibrating signal that produces a sound like that of a violin...also something like the sound you get by tapping a nail against a crosscut saw blade. |

This is a marvelous song played by a great picker with a gripping arrangement. I heard this the first time yesterday and almost posted something about it myself. I also was blown away with the posted song of Ken Williams. Some of these guys just boggle my mind with their talent. |

Frank did a great job of tying everything together for sure. While there I listened to the one above and I thought it was terrific also. That was Mike Brewer doing Pennies From Heaven. Another great job. Larry |

It's a wonderful job for sure, but let's not do both of these great steelers a disservice by pitting them against each other. Instead, let's just appreciate each performance for what it is .... |

Frank us not only a great player and a nice guy, he builds his own steels.
Frank will be joining us at the L.A. Jam next week. (as will David.) His presence (as is David's) always assures us of some fine picking. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.
