Good going, Johnny. In January 1972, when Johnny was still in school, he "obtained" the parts he needed from Duane Marrs at Sho Bud and set up my 71 PP Emmons. |

Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. Great going Johnny.....MSA is very blessed to have you. You've brought many hours of great steel to all of us. VP of MSA is a great honor, and who would deserve it any more than you? I can think of no one. The very best to you, my friend. Say "howdy" to Joan (another great picker, too) for us. HAL & DEBE (The Higgins') _________________ HAL...Excel D-10 w/ 8 & 5. Thanks to all of you for your kind and thoughtful words of encouragement. When I left Nashville three a half years ago I was very unsure of my future. On Thursday morning the 17th of September 2003 I awoke and once again prayed to God for a job, as I was completely unemployed. At approximately 9:00am I received an answer to that prayer when Kyle Bennett called and offered me a job at Micro Space Instruments, the manufacturing company for MSA. I left Nashville the following Monday leaving my wife, Joan, my two children and my mother behind and putting my life completely in God’s hands. That was the beginning of a new life for me my family. In the time that has past since then I have been so richly blessed. I have been able to share my ideas relating to steels with MSA and now they have honored me by this wonderful inclusion in the company. There are so many things that have happened that I could not list them all. I want to thank first God for always having the perfect plan for such an imperfect person. Thanks to Joan, Josh and Jennifer for your support and to Reece, Kyle, Dave and Jerry for thinking enough of me to include me in MSA. And thanks again to all my friends both old and new. I am truly humbled by all of this. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Johhny-Congratulations! A perfect fit as Phred says.
I am still amazed by your Cassette 'Ballads,Shuffles & Swing', with the medley Solos on the end, "Shadow of Your Smile" and "Nearness of You". You're the Tops and the MSA Company has recognized it by honoring you with this promotion.....al. _________________ Michigan (MSGC)Christmas Dinner and Jam on my 80th Birthday.

Johnny, Tell the higher-ups that I insist that you start getting paid! You've been there long enough now to start getting some money for food. Last time I saw you you looked like you had lost a few hundred lbs!
Seriously, you look great and I'm happy that you made such a great move. I'd say I miss you but I'm just gonna' have to move to Dallas and tell you in person.
(Get me a job tuning guitars!)
