Its been several years since I sold mine, but #1816 sticks in my feeble mind. I think it needs to be a 28 volt bayonet base. But then again, it may be something totally different that I'm thinking about. I do remember that Radio Shack bulbs would only last a month or two, and I finally bought some GE's or some name brand and one of them lasted for several years. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

I'm pretty sure the bulb needs to be 28 volt, so the 1820 will probably work, if it has the right bayonet base configuration. The 1816 may have been for the dash lights in my old Ford truck. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

A number 757 also works fine and you can get it at Radio Shack.
I modified my pedal by removing the resistor and AC cord and replacing the lamp with a 14 volt and using a DC wallwart with enough current capacity at 12 volts to supply the light. This reduced the AC hum a noticeable amount. It also got the 120VAC out of the pedal, I was concerned that if the resistor burned and shored or the lamp socket went, the pedal chassis could be 120 VAC above ground. This could be bad for the guitar among other things. |
