I finally got it together and figured out how to load an MP3 of me playing onto my new steel web site and post it here. I think it should download to just about anyone.

Hey TC, I know how you feel about figuring out the MP3 thing cuz I just did myself and I felt more accomplishment doing that than doing the song...lol

Good playing and tone.

Hey thanks for the nice words guys. I just sat down this morning and did one pass plugged into a POD XT (that a buddy loaned me)with whatever POD program that I was messing with a few weeks back. I plugged it into my M-Box 2 to ProTools LE . This is kind of the opposite of the way I usually record which is with a Revelation tube preamp and self-powered speaker and microphone. I went direct because my dog was barking and it was easy.

The guitar is one that I affectionately call "Franklinstein". It's a '66 Emmons D-10 Bolt-On that was refitted 20+ years ago by Paul Franklin Sr. with Franklin all pull changers and underneath stuff. I just put a pair of 710's in it and I really like it. This morning was the first time I ever recorded it. I might need to think about doing some more.

Woops...In my answer to Chuck's question, I left out one very important component of the steel sound on the track. That would be The Steel Guitar Black Box! I prefer it just after my trusty pot pedal. I don't much care for the sound of a POD XT without a Black Box in front of it.

Hi T.C.-It took quite a while to load it, but it was worth it. Nice tone and tasty playing.

I just have my guitar and little amp, and can't get that kind of tone.

That's Pretty nice E9....al.SmileSmile

I didn't look at the tile at first,
it sounded like
Patty Page Old Cape Cod...
which I liked a lot.

Then I saw The Nearness Of You, and thought
well that's nice too.

Nice tone, and voicing.

Great playing and a perfect steel sound. Any chance you could do it again ( or another song ) this time without the Black box so we can compare? Congrats on the posting.

TC, what fine playing! I suspected you might be a monster. That must sound wonderful live through the RevPre and your miracle powered speakers, which is undoubtedly the best sounding rig I have ever heard.

TC, that was awesome !

I am thinking how blessed we all are to be able to listen to other members playing, I am always in complete admiration when I hear members post tunes of there playing. This one is no exception.

Great song and an excellent rendition of it as well.

Thanks TC

Awesome tone, T.C.! How about recording the exact same passage on one your Sho~Buds now? It would be cool to hear the differences in tone between the two guitars.

PS Chris, I promised myself I wouldn't play any more Sho-Buds until I get a mess of that Newfoundland Seal Flipper Pie that you are so fond of!

Well, T.C., I just found out that Newfoundlanders are the only people in the world who ingest gravy-smothered mammal fins. This is not a proud moment for me. Shocked Wink
