Yikes. It doesn't seem possible, seems like yesterday. One of the greatest, no doubt.

She's one of my all-time-favorite country singer. I especially love her her duets with George Jones. I just watched a concert of hers I got off of Netflix: I belive that Mr. Douchette is doing the steel work (as well as killer harp and guitar). Michael, you sound great on that stuff! What a honor to have player with her. She's the best!

Cliff, thanks for the kind words. She was, indeed, the First Lady. It was a real honor to get to work with such a legend... and a blast to hang out with just the good ol' country gal she was.

That's from a couple weeks worth of TV specials we did for TNN. I was no longer with the band, Rusty Pence was playing steel, but they hired me to play rhythm guitar for the series. You can see me really well about 1:20 into it, to the left and behind Loretta...

Oops. I've edited the date below.
------------------------------------------
I saw Tammy the summer of 1996 or 1997 at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, California. It was very sad as she could not stand for an entire song but was still out there doing the best she could. Too bad it ended like that.

I wish I had a better final memory.

She's been gone 9 years. You might want to check that date again.
