Dean Backwood 7 (BW-7) 5 String Banjo.
Ok. So this one hurts a bit but I really need a new acoustic guitar so I need to sell this. This has been a very good banjo. There are no issues. It is still very very close to new condition. I have kind of fallen out playing the banjo the past few months and this thing has been in a case since I stopped playing and is still really close to being totally in tune. Dean stopped making this particular model a few years back. I spoke to one of designers at Dean prior to purchasing it (to get a reason for the production halt) and he informed me that the reason for stopping the production was because it was "too expensive for most dealers". It is a bit hard to find info about this model even considering its been discontinued but I have been able to find this about it :

| Can you describe the tone ring, how many ply is the shell? Can you post photos of the inside with the resonator off showing the tone ring or hoop? Thanks. |

Dave,
the tone ring is copper (very heavy). im not sure of what you mean by the "ply" of the shell...could yuo explain?
i will send the pics of the inside this evening. though its never been opened (if that answers any questions).

dave,
i posted pictures of the inside of the banjo. the tone ring is about an inch thick and the back wood is about an inch thick on the outer rim and about 1/4th of an inch on the back. im not sure what ply that is but i hope it helps.

| that helps three more questions - are there holes drilled in the tone ring?If so how many, where was it made e.g Korea, Japan, etc? Is there are case?Hard or soft? Thanks |

dave,
im not with the banjo right now but as far as i recall there are no holes drilled in the tone ring (if there are ill let you know this evening). it was made in korea. this is no case included. i just used a 345 style acoustic guitar case when i had to travel with it. that worked very well.
