For you fans of JERRY BYRD and his steel guitar, you might want to drop by and listen to a couple of his performances of olde.

The first one is with the group headed by Owen Bradly.....The Paradise Island Trio. "Little Pineapple" is its name and it's a simple but truly pretty song.

I don't know WHO the male vocalist on the second tune might be. Sounds like a young Sonny James but I don't think that's WHO it is. Perhaps one of you can help me with his identity. It really bugs me when I can't find any identification for a singer or group or when I just plain can't REMEMBER!!

Then back on my page, is my rendition of JERRY BYRD's
popular "Turner's Turnpike". I was about 19-20 years of age and that little triple-8 Fender and the 4 x 10 Fender bassman made it sound pretty descent.
In fact, for those of you that are into swapping guitars all the time, trying desperately to catch "that SOUND"..... see if the tone on this little ditty closely matched JERRY BYRD's olde Rick.

Just curious. Not seeking any kind of flattery. Over the years I've decided that that guitar/amp combo gave me a sound that I was still searching for only a few years back. How time changes the ear.

Always good to hear from you over at the site.

Beautiful, Ray. You've got tone I can only dream of one day having. And not just on records... I heard it live with my own ears when I saw you play in Hawai'i!

Ray -
Thanks for all your work with the web-site. There's a bunch of us that still enjoy hearing the music of the master. Today being colder than the normal April in Nashville, I'm doing "home chores" - and cranked up the old VCR so I could see and hear Jerry on one of the NPT tapes from Hawaii. Still enjoy his music as much as ever.
I believe next Wednesday, April 11th, marks the second anniversary of Jerry's passing.

Wish you would re-post your rendition of Sleepwalk on the site.

Thanks again, Dave
