UPDATED 03/31/07 to add additional info.

The Tombigbee Jamboree, located in Fulton Mississippi will be hosting a steel guitar jam and show
featuring Bobbe Seymour, Herby Wallace and Wayne Bridge on May 5th, 2007. Wayne has played for Vern Gosdin, The Flying Buritto Brothers, and numerous other national acts, and of course the legendary Bobbe Seymour needs no introduction! Herby has also played with numerous national acts, both on the road and in the studio, and is certainly a legend of the steel guitar.

Beginning at 12:00noon, we will start the individual sets featuring various area steel players who would like to play. At 5:00pm Wayne Bridge will perform, and then at 6:00pm, Bobbe Seymour will be featured. Following Bobbe's performace, we will then have a jam session. These are the tentative plans, and may be subject to change as we progress toward the date.

All steel guitarists, regardless of proficiency are invited to attend and take part in the jam session.

Concessions will be available for sale at the Jamboree, and a donation of $5.00 per person to get in is asked, to help take care of the expenses.

The Tombigbee Jamboree is located at 704 Access Road, in Fulton MS. Next door to Max Homes Industries. For more information, call Jackie (Hammer) Johnson at Dixieland Trucking, (662) 862 7700

So far, here is the current lineup, which of course will be updated as players are added.
12:00pm - 12:25pm Odell Burgess
12:30pm - 12:55pm Keith Berryhill
1:00pm - 1:25pm Gung Ho Trio (Tombigbee Jamboree staff band) featuring various steel guitarists.
1:30pm - 2:25pm Smith Benjamin and friend.
2:30pm - 2:55pm Danny Lyles
3:00pm - 3:25pm Jim Parker with "Doc" Rickles & Andy Jones, guest vocalists.
3:30pm - 4:00pm Herby Wallace
4:00pm - 4:25pm Dale Stacy with Country Jack Harper, guest vocalist.
4:30pm - 4:55pm Lem Smith with Anita Davis, guest vocalist.
5:00pm - 5:55pm Wayne Bridge
6:00pm - 6:55pm Bobbe Seymour
7:00pm - until? Steel guitar jam session. All musicians welcome!

If I wasn't tied up on Saturday night on the 5th, I'd probably make the show. Good luck and thanks.

I haven't looked at my work schedule, but if it's possible at all,I'll be there. As you can tell, there ain't much happening,as far as steel guitars are concerned,in Mississippi.I just got back from Dallas and I still crave live steel music.

Billy, sure wish you could make it up. It's shaping up to look like a real good'un!

Andy, I hope you can make it. We'd certainly love to have you and any others who would like to come.

Country Jack! Hey man, it's great to see you posting here. I'll be looking forward to hearing you do some singing at this show. For all you guys that don't have the pleasure of knowing Jack, he's not only a great guy, but one of the best vocalists around. Jack sings the songs that we steel guitarsts love to play!

Please note the updated information I added to the original post. I have been in touch with Bobbe Seymour, and he has graciously consented to do this show.

I'll add/amend details as they become available.

EVERYONE welcome.

Y'all have fun. In the early '60s I went to Tupelo H.S. and had classmates from around Fulton. And Tammy Wynette from around there is my all-time favorite female country singer. I remember hanging out at a dragstrip in Nettleton(?). But that neck of the woods is a little too far for me to travel right now. Wink

Hey Bro Lemming, The 5th we'll be at the Gospel Steel Show in Indy. If yours was the week before of after we'd make a BIG detour your way. I know no one will be disappointed there. Take good care of Bobbie and don't let that Jones boy get behind you. Laughing Have fun my friend.

David, that's interesting to find out you lived around this area. Tammy, who was indeed born here in Itawamba county, is also my favorite female country singer as well.

Thom (Bozo), man oh man, I sure wish it was to where you could be here too. I forgot about that being the same week of Doug's Gospel show, but I'm not the one who came up with the date for this one. Jackie, the fellow you and your wife met that day at the Jamboree, is the one who picked the date.

BTW, I'm still using my steelseat.com seat, and will say again, that it's absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Any vendors of steel guitars or accessories are also more than welcome to come and bring your items for sale. If any of you guys know anyone who might be interested in attending, but don't have internet access, I'd appreciate you spreading the word. We're hoping for a good turnout for this, our first steel show at the Tombigbee Jamboree.

Seriously Bro', you'll fill that spot perfectly, still wish we could make it. Are you going to tape it or video, for those of us that can't get there?

I think the best word in this case is foolish!!! Laughing Thanks for the nice words, Thom...but these are some sure 'nuff heavy hitters we're talking about here!

Yes Andy, I'm hoping that one of the above time slots will appeal to Charlie, as I'd love to have him do a set.
