I have too many amps, so I am selling another one. I bought this Steel King this past November and have used it only 3 or 4 times. I paid $699. I will sell it for $500 without shipping. This is your chance for a practically new Steel King and save some money!

Why are so many Pickers selling their Fender Steel
King Amps? Is it because of the weight or sound?
thanks,
Jim

Jim, I bought my Fender Steel King from Herb Steiner and I'm loving it. But, to answer your question, as I've explained to my wife on several other purchases: steelers don't have a chance to try something before buying. We buy on the descriptions of others. We don't have a store, except shows, where we can go try out some product. We buy it, try it, and wait for the next "urge" to strike. And, finally, people just don't all like the same sound.

I do believe the Fender Steel King is a winner, but not everyone will like it. Thus we have Peavey, Webb, Evans, and others. To each his own.

Danny, My apology. A discussion about the merits of the Fender Steel King rightfully should go to the Electronics page, not here. You are trying to sell an amp, not have a discussion. I'll butt out.

Randy, thanks for the nice words. Like my buddy Jim says, you can't really try things out before you buy them, but the Steel King is a great amp. I have tried out too many and there is simply no reason to keep all these different amps. I am going to take some photos and post them.

What would be really cool is Fender to come out with a Steel King Jr. (100 watts) with effects jacks front and back like the NV 112. I just sold mt NV 1000 and the money is burning a hole in my bank account. How does this amp sound turned way down for real small gigs? Please advise ASAP. Do you take PayPay? I am coming to Houston next week and can try it out if that is OK ??? I stayed in Pearland last time and might again, not real sure. My business takes me there.

David, I like your idea about a Steel King, Jr. This amp sounds very nice even at low volume. However, it weighs quite a bit 65 lbs. I can set it up with my steel or you can bring your steel to test it out. I can take PayPal or cash.

I won't be able to bring my steel so yours would be great. I will give you a call if I can't come or when I get there. Thanks again

Jim, my humble 2 cents. I have a Steel King and I love the sound of it. It has a tonal richness that I really like with an added bonus that the highs, while sounding really good, do not punish my ears. Yes it is heavy.

Hey Danny
Change my mind? NO.
Sorry I can't get it right away.
I had to give my step daughter $1000.00 to help pay her bills. Her boss would not take her back after maternity leave. She has to draw unemployment! Shes a good kid though. I'll get it back, maybe! It's for our new grandson (Landon Carter)anyway. I don't mind.
This puts a hold on my music spending for a month or so. I wish it did not. What are you gonna do? When our kids need something I can't say no. Well unless they want to borrow my tools. I would rather buy them their own tools before I would load them mine! HA! HA!
They will end up being theirs anyway. You know, Kids!

I completely understand David. Family has to come first, even before music. I am sure someone will be looking for an amp like this and want to buy it. Thanks for giving me an update.
