It's a Magnatone T-8... worth less than $1000. Boy, is that seller misinformed!

I was going to list some Pacific Coast land in southeast Oklahoma this weekend. Doug, if I start 30 acres at $999, would you make the first bid?

That's not misinformed - that's optimistic.

I look for pedal steel stuff on ebay every day. When I saw that one a few days ago, I nearly fell off my seat. I asked my wife if I should buy it. If it's listed on eBay for $20k, it must be worth that much, right?

I saw it shortly after it was put on Ebay.

It was so stupid that I didn't even bother posting it...I knew someone else would post it...it's just too darn ridiculous!!!

Watch, now there'll be a string of sellers demanding outrageous prices for their CRAP!!!

Ebay is great at messing up the market for musical instruments!!!

I emailed the seller who claimed she was misinformed and embarrased but didin't know how to cancel and relist as the auction had a bid. I didn't care enough to follow up further.

I exchanged a couple of emails with her in the past few days, sent her links to other Magnatone T-8's, told her the current value, etc. She said she feels foolish for posting it at 20K, but someone offered her 20K a few years ago. The person who offered her that was in the music biz and said that this was Ernie Ball's guitar, or something like that. She should have taken the 20K!! She plans to relist the guitar at a more reasonable price after this auction runs it's course.

hmmm... why was this moved to the Pedal Steel section?

Not a pedal steel. It's a Magn atone T-8. Topic moved to "No Peddlers" section.

Don't forget to read the fine print.....

**This item is extremely heavy. You must come pick it up or arrange some form of delivery yourself.**

......you'd think after paying $20,000 they'd toss in shipping Smile geeeeez.....if you think that price is high....check this out...... Auction on eBay.

I dunno, that's only $6,666.67 a neck. Seems reasonable. Maybe she'll toss in some of those sequins to 'bling it up' a bit.

She wants to shut-out the players. She's looking only for investors to bid. But, who would pay that?

Seller says: “The frets have star shapes since it was custom made for Starr Studios in Fresno.”

Right… so… this other Magnatone with the stars on the fretboard was also custom made for Star Studios in Fresno?
