Topic: Need info on a problem with a PP |

| My son has a Emmons PP . I don't know much about the way one works his problem in when he raises the Es 4&8 or lowers the E's the strings wont come back to pitch you have to bump one or the other for it to come back in tune.. any help will be appreciated also who is the best at rebuilding one of these and what does it cost . this one is got 8 and 7 thanks Jack |

| I would guess the guitar is too tight. Probably needs more slack in the E raise to cover the lower. Of course, cud also be several million other things. |

Richard Burton might have the answer,this happens often on all kinds of pedal steel guitar, but as Chic Donner stated, it could be several things, all are very simple to fix. Adding some lubrication may not hurt either, as long as it isn't WD-40.

| I just did some work on a PP for a guy in Brooklyn. The guitar was in very nice shape but at some point, someone was lubing the roller nut with WD-40 or something similar. All of the rollers were glued in place. A bath in some solvent and a lube with some light machine oil fixed it up. Luckily, no one ever sprayed the changer with that goo. |
