Does anyone know who the Steel player was on Eddie Rabitt's recording "On Second Thought"? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Very Happy
Gregg

The video intro was outstanding. I am not that familiar with Ned Davis. Was he mainly a studio musician?

Yep, Paul on the CD, Ned on the Video playing my Bigsby, and if you look at the video close, there are several 1955 Standel amps scatterd around the stage. I sold all the amps to Paul Yandell and Chet Atkins several years ago.
I have the video availible to be viewed on my website,

Bobbe

Thanks guys...I never would have thought that it was Paul Franklin. I like the way he (or at least it sounds like )chimes on the Intro and break and ending. It either sounds like chiming or he is playing 3 or 4 string to make a chord in "Hughey Land" HA!

If you'll notice on the video, Ned Davis plays with his fingerpicks on the middle and ring fingers and none on his index finger. I've heard that he did this because he played guitar first and used a flatpick and two metal fingerpicks and when he learned steel he was already used to the picks on those fingers so he just shoved on a thumbpick and left the fingerpicks where they were......JH in Va.

I tabbed that solo for the Ricky/Rebel site a few years ago. It's listed under 1990 for whoever's interested.
