String guages and tunings for lap steel.

My Dad passed away last week and my Mom gave me his old steel. Need advice for tunings and string guages. I'm not even sure what kind it is. There is no name on it that I can find. I think he used an E Major tuning. Oh, and it's 6 string.

Then you might select your learning materials and follow what your book or DVD tells you. Can't beat the Cindy Cashdollar DVD and book lessons. On C6 by the way
