On the subject of strange fiddle players....
True fact, I saw and heard a ONE ARMED FIDDLE PLAYER in Springfield Missouri. As part of a t.v. show staff band, we backed a fiddler that held the bow upright between his knees, turned the fiddle sideways with his one arm/hand and slide the neck of the fiddle up and down the bow as he fretted it. Uhuh!, he did!
I often thought he could have taken it a step farther and made "bows in a box" and connected 3 bows together. Two vertical and one horizontal. And insert the fiddle into the middle of it, slide up one bow, across the second bow and down the 3rd bow. Much more showmanship.
Roger, sometimes you're better off with less on stage? Similar to 1970, when I wanted to trade my pink 1959 4 door Cadillac for a red 1963 Plymouth wagon. I asked the owner of the dealership if he wanted my Caddy for a trade-in? He said, "Not where I can see it!" :~(

That would be like trying to feel around under your steel with your picks on for the one knee lever you forgot to fold down while in the middle of a song and your solo is coming up while sustaining an extra long cord with the bar in your other hand.

Worst knee lever to fail to unfold, LKL. Kick off the set with OBS and slam left, pull the groin muscle. The show host calls the cops because of improper looking conduct. Set cancelled.
