Hey guys and gals . If you are in or around the Columbus Ohio area Mr. Bob Allen informed me this afternoon that he would be willing to teach a C-6th seminar here at my home on April the 14-th at 1:00 pm . until whatever for free ! The only ketch is that you will need to bring soda pop or hot dogs and or hamburger for a cook out . I have plenty of room for several players so if anyone is interseted please e-mail me or call me at (614) 774-3109 for information . Bob knows a lot of the C-6th licks and runs as well as instrumentals so heres your chance to stretch your C-6th . Please let me know soon . Best regards , Gary . |

Now ya got me thinkin'? Can I convince my wife to go on vacation to Ohio in April . . . I don't think so!! Tempting though!! Sounds like it will be a great time. I have been working at this C6th neck since I got this "new" Bud and it's lots of fun but I guess I'm a slow learner. The way Bob plays the C6th neck is nothing short of amazing! All who can, should attend this seminar.
See you all this summer!!

Thanks guys . We are expecting a great crowd of players . We will have a fun time i promise . Peter we would love to have you with us and hope to see you soon my friend . If you get to come to the Buckeye state anytime soon please let us know . We always enjoy having you with us . After thinking about the food and soft drink part of the day it may be better to see how many people we have and then go get what we need ,what do you think about this idea ? Again we just want to have a great time of fellowship and getting to know each other . Dont be afraid to come to this seminar because we all need to learn more steel guitar and no one will be embarassed . Hope to see everyone soon . Gary . |

Gary: The way it looks now, we will be out your way some time this summer. I will let you in on the details when I know more! I wish I could be out there for Bob's seminar though.
Kenny: Good to hear from you. My "new" Sho-Bud is a Pro-2, probably early 70's I would say. It has the round front, hex adjustments at the end plate, and brass looking barrels underneath for the tuning, but no "rack" holding the rods, teardrop knee levers and tuning keys. This is probably the best steel I have ever heard but, of course, I am biased! It sounds quite a bit better than my mid-seventies Pro-1 in my opinion It's also a lot heavier. When I come out this summer I will be bringing out the Pro-2. I only wish it were a bit sooner, like two weeks from now!!!
Again, for all those who may be on the fence about attending this seminar, GO!! You will not be disappointed!!

Peter, you got one of the"prime" Sho~ bud guitars from what I have read, and understood. The earlier to about mid 70's was the best Sho~Bud's built. |

Cool Gary, wish I could make it, why don't you all get in a Van and drive to Charlotte NC and do it at my house ?
I'll even supply the Hot Dogs, you bring the rolls though
Great idea, small seminars and get togethers at individuals homes...
