Has anyone used this pedal? I have a EH Holy Grail, which I like the sound of but don't think I can live with the noise (hiss). The sound sample clip of the '63 spring is very impressive.
Any comments appreciated,
Byron

I had a Verbzilla for a few weeks. Some of the reverb programs were great but I had a problem with background noise. Not as noisy as the Holy Grail but unacceptable in my setup. I ended up buying a Boss RV-5 as a last resort and was pleasantly surprised. The reverbs on the RV-5 are excellent and the unit is very quiet.

I tried the Verbzilla and the Boss RV-5 side by side. I couldn't get a reverb out of the Verbzilla that didn't have noticable discrete reflections so overall I'd say it was very grainy. The RV-5 won hands down for me. If you want a reverb/echo combination the Verbzilla might be good for you but then I would opt for the RV-3. At risk of being flamed, IMHO the Verbzilla was pretty horrible, kind of like an echo box trying to emulate a reverb unit. Based on a lot of very favorable reviews of the Verzilla and based on my positive experience with the Line 6 Rotary unit, I bought the Verbzilla but promptly returned it a week later. I tried it on steel and lead guitar and decided to just buy another RV-5. Even my multi-effects GT-8 has a smoother reverb than the Verbzilla.

Thanks guys, I have an RV5, it's on a Pedal board and I hate to take things on and off, I just wanted something to put in the back of an amp that has no verb and leave it there for when I don't want to hassle with the pedal board. I guess I'll work out a way to do that with one of my LXP1's for now. Any other ideas on reverb pedals? I really like the spring emulation on the Holy Grail. The Boss pedals don't seem to have anything that sounds like that.

I also have a Holy Grail, and LOVE the spring reverb sound it gives me (I actually prefer it to the real spring reverb on my tube amp...); mine isn't noisy, either.
I personally don't like the RV5 - much too clean, digital sounding - nothing my Zoom 507 wouldn't give me for a much lower price.
Maybe you should check out the Marshall Reflector - I haven't tried that one myself, but I have heard from a couple of guys that it has a very good spring reverb type sound; I have the Marshall Edward compressor from the same series, and that one is great - very warm sound, very little noisy, and very solid construction - so, if the Reflector is as good, it might be what you're looking for. They are quite reasonably priced, too!

I used a virbzilla for about a year and i thought it was great, not noisy at all, clean, easy to get what i wanted out of it. I had the RV-3 i used for about 3 years and when i did an A/B test with them i preferred the Verbzilla hands down.(MPO).
I had to switch over to a rack mount when i bought a Revelation amp or i would still be using it
