Bill Simmons is a great guitar builder. I really started with a Simmons. Bob helped me and made me a 3 and 4. He thought it was a crazy color but I see it showing up in a lot of guitar builders. If you want a starter that has start built in. Try one of Bob's. It's way ahead of many others. Enjoy the grand kids Bob.
Blessing
Doc

Hi All,
Simmons guitars are some of the best built guitars anywhere and Bob is one of the nicest people to do business with. You always get more for your money. He made me a Simmons 3 and 4 and it was great. Congratulations on the Pioneer Award, you deserve it. Here is a picture of 2 great pioneers in this business. Bob Simmons and Bobbe Seymour.
They are always in my Hall of Fame.
Enjoy the grandkids Bob. Blessing to you and your family,
Doc

I am a beginner and am interested in an S10 3X4 to learn on. I am also only 5 feet in height, and so my legs/rods must be cut to fit ( or so I have heard). I am looking at an old Simmons for sale, and I would have the legs cut to fit at an additional cost. My question is: how much would it cost to have a new more lightweight beginner model made for my height and is this a possibility??
Thanks!

The Simmons Steel Guitars are really super sounding steels! I've tried Bob's (no relation) steels many times and if I didn't have sooooo many already (my wife would kill me), I'd buy a Simmons without hesitation. In fact, at the monthly steel jams in our Birmingham area, Bob's guitar is really one of the best sounding!

I'd suggest Avery that you seriously look at buying the new Simmons model Bob sells. It will be set the exact way you want it and everything is new...that's a great price for a new steel.
