I keep seeing this amp as the one everyone is using now, or it seems. Do you have to put anything with it? I mean as far as delay, or compression, or is it stand alone? Thanks again from everyone for all the great info!

Do a search for the NV112 on the Electronics section. Lots of posts about it.

I use a POD XT for reverb and delay with my NV112, although it has the standard spring delay.

Hi David, as Sonny said "Great amps" but as most I used an out board Reverb/delay box. In my case a Boss Rv3. I have since reverted back to an amp with a 15 inch speaker. Just my preference for the lows on my S-12 universal.

Go to www.jimeatonmusic.com and see photo's and user comments about the "Knob Guard", IMHO it's that only thing you need to add to a NV112.

I used an NV 112 until I went to pick with a forum member and played through his NV 1000. It really made a huge difference to play my GFI through the 15 on the 1000. I could not get the same lows on the 112. It was a nice light amp but it didnt give me the lows I wanted.....James

Yes, but I remember when you could say the same thing about...

Standels
Twin Reverbs
Session 500's
Session 400's
Nashville 400's
Session 2000's
Nashville 1000's

and...the Steel-King

Of course, some of that is just fad. When a new product comes out, there's a significant percentage of players who just have to jump on the bandwagon and buy one! I think the rationale is something like this...

"He sounds better than I do...it's gotta be his amp!" (Or guitar, or pedal, or bar, etc., etc.)

I am afraid i agree for the most part with james on this one. And i have voiced my opinion on this amp elsewhere on the forum. As i play C6th, i just didn't get the lows, even at low volume out of this little amp. I have since put a Black Widow 12" 4ohm speaker in it. Didn't add much weight at all, and it can handle the bottom much much better, and i have added head room. In all fairness, i asked Mike Brown if he thought this amp would work for me, he adviced me he didn't think so. But i was given the amp new as a gift, and it is just dandy for church. But for any serious jams, or public playing. I use my fender Steel King or my Webb. I also use my Boss DD3 delay, Boss phaser, compressor, and the onboard spring reverb.

I use a Peavey TranstubeFex with mine and I think it sounds great. If you get into a situation where you need a little more power just set a mic. in front of it.The band always sounds better if everythings running through the house speakers anyway IMHO.

I'll have to agree with George" the amp is fine for home use, but take the big guns with you on stage.

IMHO Peavey hasent built a better sounding amp sence the Session 500.

I know it's 90+ pounds but I love the sound. Rolling Eyes

This is a great amp. It's light and sounds good right out of the box with the suggested settings in the manual. After lugging around a Twin, this is a pleasure to take out and it sounds better.

The N112 is No fad! The reason it seems everyone is using it is because they are. I've had one since they came out ( 2004 I believe)....I have since sold My N1000....and I bought a FSK this past Xmas, and it sits in My living roon, 'cause I still take the N112 to Gigs. Maybe Its because Everything in my Band gets Mic'd thru our huge JBL system....But that N112 sounds great. I have to agree with John Macy's post in Electronics.....I"ve been thinkin about gettin a ValveKing 112 and using them in Concert (pun intended!) JD

It's a good medium-powered, lightweight, nicely priced, clean playing, solid-state steel amp for country. It might not have adequate power for loud stages, especially for C6 or 12-strings. Some people deal with that by using two NV112s. It is still a 12" speaker with a different voice than a 15". Some of us prefer tube amps.

I've been using the 112 for a good while along with Brad Sarno;s Black Box> I've had many studio guitarists comment how good it sounded. I also used it at the Irish Steel Show (along with a few pints of Guinness) It sounded great there and I didn't have a Black Box. I believe this amp is much more than a fad. Peavey has come up with a great little amp although I would reccomend two for loud live playing.

The Nashville 1000 outranks and outplays the 112, so if weight is not a factor, get a 1000. Otherwise get a 112 as a close second.
