I spent this past weekend in Nashville, Tenn. As usual, I always end up on E. Broadway. I had stopped into the Bluegrass Inn to see the young family group which is called Jipsy. After leaving there, I walked past The Stage. Man, the band inside was kicking butt on some of the best Western Swing and modern music I had heard live in quite a while. I stopped and listened for quite a while and noticed on the tv screen in the front window, which showed the band on stage, a steel guitar player I didn't recognize. I asked the doorman who he was and he told me..... Terry Crisp. I hadn't seen Terry since he moved to Nashville in 1976 when he was about 20.
His picking was really great, as was the rest of the bands. I don't get out as much as I would like to but if you visit Nashville, make sure you stop by the Stage and catch this great band featuring one of my favorites, Terry Crisp. I did have one dissapointment though. I asked Terry to play 'The Preacher' and he just sort of laughed.

Dave, I was playing drums with them. Terry's wife,
(just married) sings and plays piano. Christy Quick.
Jeff Garris,guitar Aaron Till,fiddle and Sid McCarther,bass. Terry knows a few of us know "the preacher", but the bass man probably doesn't know it.
I'm sure he would have loved to kick into that. Thanks for nice things you said about the band. Randy |

| Randy...Thanks for the response. I figured that Terry would know 'the Preacher.' You all do have a great band, not too loud and not too quiet. As I said, it was great to enjoy such great music on E. Broadway in Nashville. Like the old days to me. Your arrangements, talent on each of the instruments and all around sound reminded me of the great Texas Troubadours of the sixties. I've got to have your guitar player teach me his version of 'Orange Blossom Speciall.' He flat hooked it. The gal on the piano is very easy to look at and very talented. Just a compliment, Terry. Don't get uptight. <G> The stage will definitely be a spot for me to visit when I'm in the city. What is your schedule there at the Stage? I sometimes plan my trip around who I can see on E. Sid is one of the best bass players on Broadway,he has a tone to the bone and I`m sure there is a big chance he knows the song you are talking about.He is my favorite bass player.However,tell him I said Hi if you see him please.Christy ?? is that the girl that used to be a waitres at Tootssies?She smokes and plays piano?She is married to Terry?Since when?I didn`t have no idea..ha well..I didn`t spend much time down town lately either I guess.
