Seeking an inexpensive, used tricone. Anything really with a case. No "issues", just a player. Thanks, Jim |

I picked up a used mid 90's polychrome National. These are not inexpensive but you wil save $500 or more, over a vintage guitar. They are not chrome, usually some painted color (mine is a grey sunburst). The sound is still that National "to die for" tone. If you get a cheap one, the instrument will remind you every day, that you bought a cheap one; and you will be left wanting the real thing. |

I have a Regal tricone that I am quite pleased with. Regal doesn't build a square neck tricone so I had to use a nut raiser but it's still a nice guitar. Mine is the "Wild Rose" pattern. I got it from Folk of the Wood in New Mexico. |

Thanks for the responses, guys. While I wouldn't mind a National I just don't want to spend that much right now. I'm buying the instrument to play on a few songs in my band (we play the "greatest hits" of the 20s, 30s and 40s), but I 'm not looking for one to play all the time. I also thought that if I bought an inexpensive resonator and liked it enough I could upgrade the cones if I ended up using the guitar more often. Thanks, Jim |
