I'm listing this for a friend, although I did own this steel myself once, and it was hard to turn loose - loved it.
It's a Blanton D-10, 8-pedal 4-lever, and currently lives in Granbury, Texas.
The owner is Albert Maylen, and can be contacted at (817) 716-1994, or kusa549@aol.com
He's asking $900. |

Another thing that's so great about these guitars is the incredible ease changing the copedant. When I bought that black D-10 from Justin in Dallas last year, I flipped the guitar over, changed almost every pull (he had a copedant on there almost exactly backwards from the way I play) and had it back in tune in about an hour. The versatility of these guitars and their ability to play in tune is impeccable, as is their tone and overall beautiful appearance.
You've really got a winner there. That being said, if you ever want to get rid of it, send it to Justin, because he's always offering to buy this one back from me.

Yeah Mike, I knew it would want to come back home sooner or later.
Randy, Dont tie up a bunch of money in that thing. I won't be able to afford it.
Michael, I think you are right. The black Blanton you have was kind of a joke. The guitar was built for Gene O'Neal (Charley Pride)
You guys figure out the rest.
Most of the ones I have seen were one of many shades of green.
The design was by far the most well thought out I have seen. |

My friend Charlie Day used to speak highly of Blantons. The last I heard, thats what he's been playing. The people who own them always seem to like them. Thats a great price for a D10. I am curious to find out if someone could confirm who that was in the Loretta Lynn/Conway Twitty video. |
