Very helpful, thanks Brad. Now tell me, if I record at 24/44.1, can I just drag the file into a standard burner software (e.g. iTunes, Windows Media, etc.) and it will automatically make the conversion from 24 to 16 bit, or does that require pro-level equipment?

My immediate need is to record my son's college saxophone audition. Obviously we want the best quality we can get, but we'll be doing the burning at home on our home 'puter, not in a studio or with anything fancy.

Thx,
jc
