Having run across a few being sold in the past couple of years, an off the top of my head ballpark idea:
$700-$800.

As a musical instrument, I was not impressed with the one I had. It was beautiful and big, but the sound was pretty weak and not very 'dobro' sounding. A collector might pay up to $1000, but only for the vanity of having it.
Personally, I would not buy another one.
Maybe someone else has a different opinion?

My Buddy brought one back from America a few years back....It was supposed to be one of the loudest resonators...I only played it once..it wasnt loud and its tone was Dull and "Woody".....I used to ask could I use his real Dobro instead......its gone now

I played a Sho-Bro on a couple of gigs over 20 years ago, and it had a fairly "dark" tone. It didn't project like a Dobro, but it was a beautiful looking instrument. Lots of inlays, incredible finish, stunning look, much like the Sho-Bud steel guitars. The owner had this Sho-Bro custom made with his name "inlayed" on the neck and electronics installed for amplification.
As far as value, the current VGM price guide lists the Sho-Bro reso at about $600 (in excellent cond. w/original case). It says these were made from 1972 to 1978.

There are two kinds of ShoBros out there. The ones made by Gretch (less money) and the ones made by Shot at ShoBud (more money). The later are better quality.
If you supply the serial number to me I can tell you who made it and can give you a better estimate on the vaule.
The S/N is stamped into the top of the peg head. It should be something like 8 3124.
