The February edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" is now up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week, over and over, for the entire month.
The theme for this month, February, is a tribute to members of Merl Lindsay’s great Oklahoma Nite-Riders band after their days with the Lindsay band. The show will open with the actual Lindsay band doing an unissued 1949 version of the band theme. You will hear vocalist Glynn Duncan at a Bob Wills Texas Playboys reunion as well as Jimmy Pruett with Merle Travis, Rudy Martin with Stonehorse and Jimmy Young with Lou Walker’s band. You will also enjoy some of the great Nite-Riders steel guitarists including Vic Ashmead with Windy Wood, Gene Crownover from his collector’s item OK Productions LP and Bobbe Seymour and Gene Jones from their fantastic CDs.
The show’s Western concert features Rex Allen singing Bob Wills as well as some great rare sounds from the Sons of the Pioneers and Eddie Dean. The show’s Texas dance hall time features that genre’s legends- Johnny Bush, Darrell McCall, Curtis Potter, etc.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site, www.swinginwest.com
Thank You!

Jody Sanders (Not to confuse you with Jody Carver who I responded to above you.)
I can't thank you enough for the bump. It is truly my pleasure and passion to let the American public know about Western Swing and Steel Guitar Music and to feature not only the new but the guys that pioneered this business and kept it alive in the era when it was taking a nap. It really makes me feel good to see that it is being recognized today the way it is. Thanks buddy!!! _________________ Mike |
