I got an Oahu lap steel the other day and wanted a gig bag for it. I found out the best fit and protection from a baby Taylor bag I got from Guitar Center for $45. It is really a stout gig bag, and is just about perfect for most lap steels. |

The gig bags for Steinberger headless basses are about the right size for a lap steel. They're hard to find tho. |

The reason I bring it up is that GC has a surplus of them that they are letting go of cheap |

Baritone Ukelele gig bags fit many lap steels remarkably well. Kind of a Hawaiian thing.

Thanks Keith. Do you think the Taylor bag will fit an MSA Superslide 12 string? It's 32" long and 9" at the widest. It's been a while since I've seen a Oahu over at Garland's. _________________ Bill Cunningham

Not sure about the neck width; the rest of the dimensions should be fine. |

Y'know Her Remington sells an economy model guitar that comes with a gig bag. Maybe he'd consider selling bags seperately. There seems to be a market. |

Posted 19 Feb 2007 5:03 pm perfect bag/case for a frypan?
|
|
I have two 25" frypans, and need a case or bag for one of them. I have it in a bari uke chipboard case right now, but it flops all over the place, unless I put in a few towels. The length is perfect, however.
I suppose one option might be getting a sewing machine, some cordura, foam padding and zipper, and learning how to sew?

Todd, you might want to try a Martin Backpacker bag. It has a narrower cut at the bottom. |
