I just received my Curly Chalker DVD and it is great. Thanks to all that made it possible.
I have been told that Curly made a seperate pedal that set behind his other pedals that when pushed it would push down sevaral pedals at one time. This was done to get a new sound or new notes. Has any body else heard this?
Thanks

Nope, can't say as I have, though Curly was rather expert at using both feet on the pedals, so actuating 3 or 4 floor pedals at a time would be no big deal. Many players think the pros must have something special or secret to get all those sounds and chords and play the way they do, but it's really just practice, practice, and more practice. |

I am in agreement with Donny on this one! Curly, and others like Julian Tharpe, Speedy West, Bob White, etc. did not use lots of gadgets, secrets, they just practiced and played for decades, during the years they came up with alot of the sounds/music they played.
GOD bless!

My two cents......The E9th and C6th tunings have so many possibility's that, when used right, you are about 99years old before you figure out all the tone and chord progressions.

You're welcome. I'm glad (but not surprised) you are enjoying it.
I don't know anything about Curly having such a devise, but Bill Stafford does. It allows him to step on 3 pedals with one foot. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Ron and Chris, I agree to a certain extent. But, in my opinion, there's always room for new ideas. If there weren't, we'd all be playin' lap steels! I think new stuff is interesting, and ya never know where it might take one. |
