I have a 1931 or 1932 original Dobro ser# 2211 round neck can be used as dobro or guitar.Just wanted to know what this is worth. Thanks,Chubby Howard |

If it's a Model 45 or 55* in decent shape the big dealers might ask 1200-1500 assuming the neck angle is OK for Spanish playing and comes with a good ohsc. Private sales/eBay, probably a bit lower. I got a really nice (neck angle not really good for Spanish style) 55 for $800 about five years ago--an excellent deal. It gots de lug cone I loves!
*--(unbound bodies; 55 has a bound fb; don't think the 45 does; these came before the better-known 27/37/later-45, i.e., spruce-top models)

It is all wood and has round neck. excellent condition. Made 1931. company founded 1928. |

I have serial #1575.
Depending upon which resource you believe-mine could have been built in 1931, 1932, or 1933.
Prefacing the word "Dobro" should always be: "The convoluted history of the..."
Their record keeping was a little weird.
