Could anyone tell me what this is worth? My plan was to resale it but I'm re-thinking that now. I also would like to have someone close to Austin give it a once over but not sure who to call.
Thanks, Ed

I seen them recently for about 1,000. I would hold on to it. People don't want to pay.Is it a T8?

Hey Marty,
I'm really not sure if it's a T8 or not. Unless that means Triple 8. If so yes it is. I don't know much about these at all.
Thanks, Ed |

Looks like a console 508. Tripple 8 with a short scale 22.5
In 57 or so they made a long scale(25 inch) with more knobs on it. (700 series), pedals became that year too.

I have two Rickenbacker Duel 8's and one Duel 6. They play and sound really good. I have two of the older versions and one like yours. I'd hold on to that. The pickups alone are worth a good deal of money. |

I have a 1956 model like yours, but it is a double eight string. If I were you I would keep it. I have found that I feel mine is worth more than I could get out of it and it will on escalate in value. These models are 22.5" scale and tend to be very easy for slants, just a bit touchy up the register because of close frets. _________________ Carter D12, MSA S12, 12 String Custom Made Non-Pedal, Evans FET 500LV, Evans SE200, Peavey Nashville 400, Fender Steel King |

If it's not being used, I'd love to care-take it for you. It needs strings and TLC. I'm only half joking. |

Hey Howard,
I've got a triple Rick' similar to your but it has a 10 string in the middle. Got it from Mr Seymour in Nashville about 5 years ago. My advice would be to keep it. They have a "bang on" tone and are pretty good to play. A bit bulky to take around but worth it. I paid a bit for mine and I had to import it to good old "Blighty", but it was well worth it. You may get $1000.00 -$1200 ? I think Andy's had a couple up for around that price some time ago (not sure). One bit of advice is if you are not sure what you are up to, don't get involved with adjusting those "horse shoes". If the guitar is in balance, leave it - I learn't the hard way!
Best wishes |
