I'm buying Tom Anderson's ZB D-10, so my '69 ZB S-10 (and a BMI S-10 listed earlier) must make way. ZB Details: s/n 0064 (ca. early 1969); 5+1; finish (originally blue/white) faded and checked, a small bit of flaking in a small patch on the ledge. Five rods but one ball-connector broken. E-Eb KL is RKR. (I guess that was the fashion in the early Nixon era?) PU sounds great. C-pedal and mechanics in general need tweaking. (I was going to take it for adjustment locally very soon; I hadn't been able to hook up with this ZB's likely builder in Bakersfield.) Blue/natural, but has faded as ZBs do. Fretboard is loose but reveals spectacular original blue color underneath. I got this without a case and suspect this had sat for a long time uncovered.

I've bought an SKB H3611W case (like new condition) and about $60 worth of thick felt to make supports and lining. I think this SKB case is the same as Sierra used to sell...even though its primary use is for drum stands and hardware. There are two sets of straps with buckles on the lid and bottom. I was going to use the felt to build supports to suspend the body upside down in the bottom. (And put a layer of thin felt under the keyhead/strings/changer.) The industrial felt comes in 1x2x30" rolls. (1" is the thickest available.)
I figured I'd have to make 3" pieces to support the ledge and 2" pieces to fit at the ends of the keyhead and "whaletail." Some more pieces on the sides to keep it secure there.

In selling this, I'd prefer to do a temporary case-padding and packing job with bubblewrap, old towels and foam (or some combination) and let the new owner work with the felt--or not--as I was planning on taking my chances with my own modest mechanical skills in lining the case. I'd prefer, however, not to inflict same on the next owner.

I'd like to stay close to what I have in all these (not including what I paid for shipping) so I'm asking $900 + shipping. I'll give the Forum first look before taking it to eBay. (We can knock the cost of the felt off if buyer wants to try something different.)

More photos to come.

(That geeky KL you may see has been removed. It's available if you want it...)

Henry, I hope you or someone else buys this guitar really soon so I don't. What a fun project it would make and sure seems like a bargain to me!

The first step is recognizing that you have a problem.

The second step is coming up with the dough.
