I know I'm not the first to discover this and I'm sure someone already has posted this but here's a fun E9 simultaneous knee lever change I occasionally use, but you will need the Emmons setup with a G# to F# lower on one knee lever (mine is my right knee lever left). You can lower your fourth and sixth string together by using the E-Eb change(fourth string) on one lever and the G#-F#(sixth string)on another lever. (My E-Eb change is on my left knee lever right)
So you are moving your knees inwards to affect the change, and it may feel a bit weird the first time you do it.
This change produces the exact same change as the A and B pedals mashed together. In other words if your bar is on the eighth fret(key of C) and you use your inner levers to raise the fourth string and sixth string you will get the notes D up to E and B up to C. Now place your bar on the third fret and pedal your A and B pedals together playing the third and fifth strings and you also get that D up to E and the B up to C. I have some other changes that involve using two knee levers but I'll post those later. |

On a uni it is common to use two levers at once. The E lower lever (my RKL) puts you in B6 mode, and the lever that lowers my 8th string a whole step (LKR) gives the IV9 chord. Also, in E9 mode, the F lever (LKL) gives a diminished, and the lever that lowers my 2nd string (RKR) extends it into the "chromatic" strings. |

I use that as a substitute for the AF combo. |

Yep. I have the set-up you describe and use these KL's together all the time.
I first discovered it several years ago when I went back to playing D10 after playing unis for several years. I was missing the inversions in the lower register and this combo was a valuable find. |

On my C6th setup, using LKL + RKR and LKR + RKL is as normal to me as any other combination. Squeeze in, spread 'em wide.... Do you remember that old, pre-MTV song clip that used to run, "Winchester Cathedral?" Some guy in a fur coat, wobbling his knees in and out dancing the Charleston or whatever the heck it was? That's where I learned how.... |
