Hi all,
Is there a book detailing the history of the pedal steel and its major manufacturers? I'm thinking of something along the lines of a pedal steel version of the Andy Volk Lap Steel Guitar book listed in the forum catalogue.
I thought a book like this would be fascinating considering the newness of the instrument and the innovations that have taken place in a relatively short period of time.
Cheers,

If it's really going to be a reference or "history" book, I hope the author(s) get the dates right. I've read some stuff about certain "milestones" in the development of the instrument that were 10 years off. I also hope all brands will get a balanced coverage in the book. I'd really hate to see 15 pages about Bigsby while a company like Fender gets only 3 pages.
Objectivity is key, and accuracy is crucial. Bad information is worse than no information at all. |
