Erv,
Please include me on your January list. This is a song that I have heard many times, but have never played with any band that played it, thus I have never learned it. Beautiful song.
Thanks much for the information that you offer us every month.

I'll get those tabs in the mail today.
I never really considered this to be a religious song but just the title alone lends itself to be one.

As a youth, I remember the song "Release Me". This was a good old honky-tonk song by Ray Price and I took it as such. However, at a later date I learned that it started out as a gospel song entitled: "Release Me From My Sins". Very Happy

The same goes for "The Great Speckled Bird" as recorded by Roy Acuff in 1937. . This song later evolved into "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain", "The Wild Side of Life" by Hank Thompson, and finally, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky-Tonk Angels" by Kitty Wells.
Very Happy

This month I'm doing something a little different.

I've offering you a Rodger & Hammerstein's song from "CAROUSEL"; "You'll Never Walk Alone".

I'm really not sure what these composers had in mind when they wrote this song but when I see the title and play it, I know what comes to mind for me: It's the fact that if you accept Christ into your heart and put your life in His hands, "You'll Never Walk Alone".

If you would like to give this song a go, just let me know and I will drop it in the mail for you. If you haven't requested tab of me before, I'll need your postal mailing address.

BTW: It's tabbed out in the standard E9th pedal tuning.

Happy New Year! Very Happy
