Hi Randy
I've just done the mod on my old nashville, it sounds brilliant !.
My settings are
Low +6
Mid -15
Shift + 6-7....vary this to lose that honky sound.
High +3
Pres 0
Pre vol 5
Post to suit venue.
I'm using an Emmons Le-Grand with a Wallace pick-up and an
Emmons vol pedal with the Canadian pot in it.
Regards
Barry |

make sure the PRE is not set close or higher than the POST...
Don't be afraid to set that post up there around 3:00 or 4:00..
Pre can be anywhere from 9:00 to Mid day !

ps
How ya doin' Randy ? |

Randy, what else is in the chain (volume pedal, effects, matchbox, etc)? Try the guitar straight into the amp, no outboard pedals, etc. If it is clear there, check all the devices one at a time. Also, don,t rule out a bad cable.
Does it sound muddy compared to the other amp you have? If so then possibly we have a component failure or damage that has shown up from the original bashing the amp took when it was shipped here.
Make sure all tone controls are responding. Damage could have happened to a pot or solder joint somewhere on the board.
What speaker do you have in the amp? You might try the bright switch (pull switch on the pre-gain). See if that gives you more of the tone you are after. I use it for the Tele for sure.
If you cannot resolve this then send it down and I will get to the root of the problem! |

Sorry for not responding sooner. I'm in Mesa Arizona for the SWSGA show.
With the mod I've noticed I only have the bass set to 0 to +3. Since I don't have the amp in front of me I can only tell you the positions on the mid and shift controls. Mid at 9:00 o'clock and the shift at 12:30. Treble at +3 and presence at +3.
For this setup I use a pot volume pedal with a Black Box in the chain. This is the same setup I used for the "O Christmas Tree" track I have on www.myspace.com/rgb |
